Good Morning Sidney and Cheyenne County Nebraska,
On one hand, Sidney has amazing people like the E3 group trying to build our area’s economy. Just amazing, dedicated people. We applaud everything they are trying to do.
On the other hand, there are some here who try hold everything back, and threaten businesses and people Makes no sense. This will stop.
Yesterday, I spoke with 2 more business owners, a couple candidates, and several people who want to report some “concerning” things. We are getting a very clear picture of what is happening here and we feel there needs to be some change.
How do we change? Here are some of the things we will be doing in the next few months. This is going to happen!
September 22nd our Community Meeting. At this meeting, we are going to present a number of ideas on how this community can come together and make the change. It takes all of us. We want to hear your ideas, and troubles, and then together we will fix them.
PAC
We will be forming a community Political Action Committee that will inform the public about all elected offices, and job descriptions and actively search for the best candidates we can find within our community we can elect. The other day, we went to the county offices to get the job description of the county commissioner. No one had one. No one could give a clear description of what a commissioner does. The clerks were extremely helpful in finding some information, but there is nothing written down anywhere. How do we get candidates when we can’t even tell them what the job is? This PAC will support all candidates that strictly adhere to the constitution and the individual rights of the people.
Legal Watchdog
Along with the PAC, we are going to form a legal watchdog committee with its own website and group page that will not only track what is happening in government but do a better job of letting the public know exactly what is going on. For example, with the latest Nebraska Law LB644 no one knew about it or was going to conform to it here in this county. This morning I counted how many private messages we have received from people in this county telling us things and asking to remain anonymous. 42!!! That is amazing. 42 messages and emails with concerns. We will be creating a group that will look into these complaints and reduces the fear in this county. There is way too much fear here.
We will also create a “snap poll” page where everyone can go and fill in an anonymous poll and give us a good idea of how the people in this county feel about different issues.
People have the power. Our community has the power. We can make a change. Our goal is to create some organizations and groups that empower the people and hold officials accountable to the people.
We don’t care what political party you belong to etc. The people will decide as outlined in our constitution. The constitution builds communities by giving everyone a voice. Time to start using it again. Have a great weekend my friends.
