Today we received the documents from our FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request to Cheyenne County concerning the recent purchase of 1212 Jackson Street. This purchase was approved by all County Commissioners, Darrell J. Johnson, Randal D. Miller, and Philip E. Sanders. The new building will be used for County Attorney Offices.

We are beyond outraged by this purchase.

With all that needs to be fixed in this county our commissioners voted to spend money on new offices.

With the majority of our residents experiencing tax increases during an economic recession, our commissioners voted to spend money on new offices.

With projects dealing with children’s safety in our community and a park for our kids which they didn’t contribute to, our commissioners voted to spend money on new offices.

Sidney has experienced a loss of population, but our commissioners voted to spend money on new offices.

How much for these new offices? $320,000 plus other fees.

The average price of a home in Sidney today is $134,000.

$320,000 for new County Attorney Offices is excessive in our opinion.

There are also other excessive expenses that we have discovered within the documents that we will be bringing to the residents in the near future.

We wonder what is coming next…….

CONFIRMED…
