Why Raise Taxes?

The recipe is simple. When the economy is struggling, you cut taxes; when it’s booming, you raise them.

In 1966 Nebraska gave local governments the right to control taxes rates and taxes. This is why you have so many different property tax rates around Nebraska.

One thing is clear, you don’t raise taxes during a recession or economic downturn, so why is Cheyenne County doing this? There is a large movement across America for local governments to FREEZE property taxes instead of raising them during this recession. Why can’t our local government here in Cheyenne County do this?
