We had someone question one of our posts where we cited the Commissioners pay increase. We will always provide links or direct information for everything we post here because we believe in complete transparency, and accuracy so the people can make more informed decisions, not just “I heard that” or “this is always how it has been”. If you want to see more direct evidence of anything we post, just make a comment and we will be happy to post the supporting evidence, besides it gives people more opportunity to see the information again, which is a good thing.
Like we said before if the cost of living goes up, we are all for pay increases, but find 17% a little excessive considering the fiscal health of this county. The average pay increase in the USA for this last year was 4%. You can see the proposed 17% increase on this page of the expanded budget for 2022-2023 which we picked up at the county offices last week.
